In April 2025, ADV Romania and the Center for Non-Profit Legislation organized the pilot phase of the course “Assess the Social Impact of Social Economy Organizations”, developed within the baSE project and available in the MOOC platform. The course was designed for professionals working in the social economy – managers, coordinators, communicators, and individuals who create meaningful projects, but who often struggle to translate that meaning into indicators, reports, and messages that resonate with the public.
The main goal of the pilot phase was to validate the course content, structure, and delivery methodology. The format was hybrid:
- April 3–4: two online theoretical sessions
- April 10: an in-person working session held in Bucharest
- April 15: an additional online session for participants unable to attend the physical meeting
Participants also had access to the project’s MOOC platform, where they could explore the course materials and provide feedback to improve the content. In total, more than 30 people from social economy organizations, social enterprises, and NGOs active at both local and national levels took part in the course.
Most participants found the course timely and necessary for the sector, clear and well-structured, with a good balance between theory and practical examples, and relevant to their daily work. Suggestions for improvement included increasing interactivity through practical exercises and digital tools, as well as introducing a dashboard for self-assessment of organizational impact.
The first pilot phase confirmed a real need for training in the field of social impact assessment. The feedback received will be integrated into the final version of the course, which will be relaunched soon in an enhanced format – more interactive, more hands-on, and better tailored to the needs of those working to transform communities across Romania.
